Jump Into Vintage Week 2: Hair Report

Today is Memorial Day.  We humbly remember the sacrifices of our brave men and women who have given their lives to keep us free.

Future Jump Into Vintage posts will be once a week or less, instead of daily.  I just can't keep up with a daily schedule!

Hair Report: I'm still struggling with carving out time to wash and set my hair.  I'm rather uncomfortable sleeping on my rollers, but I can't seem to get it done on a day off where I could wear them all day instead.  I set my hair early in the week, but it was too late in the evening so the crown curls weren't dry by the time I had to work the next day.  They, of course, didn't stay and I had to reset them after work. But, I got them tighter than the bottom curls so my hair was slightly wonky and not as lovely as week one.

I used mousse these first two weeks, but my setting lotion just arrived so I'm trying that out this week to see if there's a significant difference.

I think this will be my new last day of set hairstyle. It hides the fact that my curls are drooping and my hair needs a wash. It looks weird from this angle, and I didn't manage a face up pic! The front....
I was going for something like a poodle updo, but less curly, so I left out some bangs and pulled the rest into a high ponytail.  The side...
You can still see my bobby pins, but I'll work on hiding those when I get better at making the curls.  The other side...
I took pieces of the ponytail and rolled them into barrel pin curls.  The back...
Wardrobe update:  I picked up another vintage looking dress, which I'll debut sometime in June. I also caught a cute hummingbird brooch for $1.00 at the thrift store. The head is gold with crystals, while the wings, body, and tail are blue, purple, green, and red enamel.
Check back for more updates!
