Jump into Vintage Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of my vintage inspired journey!

Today I wore a black ruffle front eyelet blouse with black plaid trousers, and black loafers. This outfit would've been more vintage style if I'd tucked the shirt in and added a belt, but I'm not comfortable doing that yet.  I added a blue and green enameled butterfly brooch.
I tried victory rolls today.  They looked alright, but I still need a lot of practice.  These hair photos were taken after working all day, and I'm pretty happy that my hair still looked pretty darned good!

My daughter, Miss H, wanted to try vintage too.  Her pink/blonde hair reminds me of Marilyn Monroe. My mom thinks she looks like Audrey Meadows.
She's wearing a 1930's day dress, navy cardigan with lace collar, brown flats, and a navy and white polka dot headband.  The dress and cardigan came from the thrift store a year or so ago.  I paid $1 for each.
I rolled her hair the night before, and she did the brush out and styling herself.
Her hair is thinner, and much curlier than mine so the back is a little bit frizzy.  I haven't figured out how to combat that yet.  Maybe we'll try some homemade pomade in the near future.  Her pictures were taken after work too, and it was humid today so that's part of the problem.
Everything we're wearing today came directly out of our closets.  While the ensembles aren't technically correct for any one era, it's a fun challenge to pull together pieces we already own to create a vintage inspired style.  Join us both tomorrow for Vintage Day 3!
