Welcome to Day 4 of my vintage journey!
Today I wore a red and white polka dot cotton button down blouse I got at last week's thrift store run for $1. I used the same plain gold leaf brooch from yesterday, with black trousers, black loafers, and a flower in my hair. I took a leap of faith and tucked my shirt in, but I think I look like a fast food worker instead of a 40's gal. I need to get some shoulder pads for the blouse to give it a better vintage silhouette...and lose 20 pounds.
Today...I'm feeling grimy. I washed & set my hair Sunday
morning This is Thursday evening. My head isn't itchy or oily, but my
hair is full of mousse from day 1 & several days of hairspray. It
just feels stiff and dirty. I've been taking showers with a make do
shower cap...which is just a plastic grocery bag tied up like my curler
covering scarf. It works quite well but I feel like a hobo. I'll be
investing in a good quality shower cap soon!
I'm still quite pleased with the quality of my curls after all this time. I'll be spending the weekend perusing more hairstyle tutorials to get a softer look to my front bang curls. I think I need to turn the swirl to the front so it looks less like a barrel on the top of my head waiting for monkeys to come flying out of it.
I'm also feeling lazy! Friday is my day off and I'll be washing and resetting my hair after house cleaning. I've been rushing home after work, grabbing a family member to snap the day's photos of my outfit and hair, then rushing to the bathroom to wash my face, let my hair down, and get straight into my pajamas. Good thing people don't drop by at all hours! I'm just not used to wearing makeup so I feel like I've got a pound of dirt on my face at the end of the work day.
Join me again tomorrow for vintage day 5!
