Jump into Vintage Day 5

It's my day off work. I'm cleaning, working on May's house projects, wet setting my hair, and staying in my pj's all day!  I thought I'd share pictures of last week's vintage week prep thrift store finds. I stopped at 4 thrift stores and 2 yard sales over the course of last week in preparation for my jump into vintage style.

In the photo above from L to R: rectangle scarf-$0.25, square navy, pink, & green scarf-$2.50, combs-$0.10 each, 2 costume jewelry rings-$0.50 each, glass beaded hair comb-$0.25, gold headband-$0.25.

I found a lovely green plastic bangle-$1.00, a pink jeweled ring that needs a pearl in the center-$1.00, and a pair of small pearl earrings-$0.25.

There was a ziploc baggie full of hair stuff for $0.75 which I couldn't resist. I didn't realize there were 3 giant tortoise shell colored vintage looking hair clips inside!

I walked into one thrift store not looking for anything specific, and walked out with a bag full of belts and hats for $0.25 EACH!  These 3 are for Miss H. The top one is pale minty green, then yellow, and orange.  I found 2 wool berets.  The green one was still new in the package.  There are two burgandy belts, and a black one.

I found this kitschy little beaded purse for $3.00

Then there's the elegant periwinkle velvet shawl with beading and fringe. The inside is a yellow green satin. All for $2.00.

You've seen most of the clothing already.  Red polka dot blouse-$1.00, pink cardigan-$1.00, brown cardigan-$1.00, black cardigan-$1.00, & white blouse with ruffled sleeve trim-$1.00.  Then there is this gem, covered in gems, for $5.00! The netting is perfectly in tact with no holes or tears.

This amazing find is 8 yards of red-orange tropical print cotton fabric for $8.00!  I'll 
make a 50's inspired summer dress later this year for spring/summer 2017.

 

This 1/2 yard of vintage Americana fabric-$0.50 will make a perfect pillow cover in my vintage camper.

Whew!  I don't know about you, but I'm worn out from all that shopping!  The grand total for this haul is $32.25!  That's the total for over a dozen hair clips & goods, 2 scarves, 1 velvet shawl, 2 blouses, 3 cardigans, 5 pieces of jewelry, 6 belts, 3 hats, enough fabric for 1 dress, and a pillow cover!  Tomorrow is a brown day, and Sunday is extra special.  I've put together a whole "new to me" ensemble for $10!
